Pack Up For
Park Day: From Games to Guzzling, We've Got You Covered

It’s warming up; you’re going out. But because gas is still pretty high, traveling isn’t high on the priority list.
It’s OK. Because even if you just go down the street to the local park, we have some items that will make your day down the block rival that of all those shmoes who paid $400 to take a flight only to deplete their paychecks for what you’re doing on the cheap. But because you’ve got to drop a little cash for a super fun afternoon/evening, we’ve collected a few of our fave park must haves here.
By far, our new favorite backyard/park/wherever game is ROLLORS. One, it can be played wherever a flat ground surface can be found. Two, it’s a game of skill that requires only a modest level of physical activity. When broken down, ROLLORS is also compact in dimension so that it can be toted easily (if you’ve ever hauled insanely heavy bochi balls, you know why this is important) and stored with ease.
A military vet came up with the idea while in Afganistan, and it’s billed as a game that is a cross between bochi, bowling, and horseshoes.
Here’s the deal. You get six rollors that have different point variations, position the goal posts about 25 feet from each other, and take turns rolling into the goal. First to 21 wins. Inebriation can make this more difficult, or players can choose one of the other, harder variations of the game.
At around $26, it’s not only fun to play, but something you can take to a party instead of yet another bottle of Kettle One. Buy it at most major retailers or online at
www.rollors.com.
